ACE tournament recap Lockport

Lockport tournament 2013

ACE commenced its 2013 campaign this past weekend at Lockport. Our players engaged in Boys 16s and Boys 18s competition. With this event being the first tournament of the year, the excitement of our players was very high. As for me, the coach, I felt as our players were more than ready and would provide a great showing. 

Our eight players played very well throughout the competition. Their technical skill was very good, especially coming off their off-season. Their new tactical play was excellent; a new offensive strategy was implemented in their game and they executed it at a top-notch level. What I am the most proud off was their mental game. Once again, our ACE players brought the most solid mental game out of any one else in competition. Whether they were up or down, their opponents knew that ACE players were never going to take a point off. This tenacity willed players to capture some outstanding victories. It also yielded our first tournament title of the year as David pulled off his most complete tournament of his career to take home the title.   

I want to thank all of our players for such an outstanding showing. Special mention to:

- Josh for pulling off a thrilling match-breaker to win his first round
- Billy for his high caliber fight and improvement
- Tim for his courageous battle
- Rahul for his motivation
- Claude for his relentless positive attitude and hard work
- Vidul for his improved skill and level head
- Nipun for giving learning and his development a chance

Great job this past weekend. The hard work of our players and coaches have really started a solid foundation for our 2013 season. We are all looking forward to our next tournament!
