Changes the Rules of Tennis!

Yesterday I talked about how the match b/t Isner & Mahut was a lack of quality tennis. Sure this was b/c of their lack of play during return games but the blame can't be put entirely on the players. Most of the blame should be actually be placed on the format that the grand slams offer. Tennis needs a change of rules!
The US Open has it right! Keep the scoring the same in ALL sets. There is no reason why the scoring system should change from the 1st four sets to the last one. The players have been playing with tie-break sets for the first 4 and then on the final set the system changes to winning by a difference of two games. This format allows for the lack of quality play that we have seen over the years at The US Open and for the tv enthusiast the lack of drama. Nothing better than watching two players go all out to win their match. The Isner-Mahut match lacked the intensity that we beg for, that a tennis enthusiast dreams.
By keeping the same format throughout all 5 sets, it guarantees an equal playing field. The same exact way the players have been dueling they should continue. Imagine changing the format in the any other set. Would that be any more intriguing tennis? How about if matches were no-Ad just the first 2 games of every set. That seems ridiculous but bc of the tradition we keep the same rules. Times change and tennis needs to as well. Imagine not playing tennis at night. Also, think about Wimbledon not having a retractable roof (we might still be waiting for the final to be played). These changes have made our game not great but the BEST!

Let's hope tennis can change its rules to better our game. Time to live in the Golden present and not the anticlimactic past.
